| Due
to our shared love of the animals, in 1992 we decided to start breeding
dogs. At that point showing wasn’t a consideration. We bought our
first chow through an advert found at a nearby shopping center. We quickly grew to love the breed and every time we saw a chow, we just wanted to purchase it! | One
day in 1993 we bought a newspaper called “Junk Mail”. We discovered
an advert about a K.U.S.A. registered “Berg Chow”. At this
point, we still knew nothing more about chows. When this black bitch turned seven months old, we thought that showing wouldn’t be a bad idea. For the first time, we got hold of the chow club secretary and were invited to their home. We took our chow along and the only response was - “This is a very healthy dog”. | Soon
thereafter we attended our first chow show as visitors - we were even
more impressed! After being introduced to some breeders we eventually found someone who was willing to sell us a blue male puppy due to a cancellation. Since then Trishca Chow Chows has never looked back again. |

| The
bottom line is - when buying a chow chow: "stay away from pet shops, newspapers, supermarkets etc." People who sell puppies through these places are mostly puppy farmers who themselves have no knowledge about the breed, and will not educate you either. |
